Mason City Youth Hockey Association
Board Meeting July 26 th, 2007
Mason City Country Club 6:30pm

Members Present: Pam Metli, Geri Maulsby, Jerry Gribben, Mike Butler, Kristin McHenry, Craig Osland, Stacie Lancaster, Dave Hepperly.

Youth Hockey: Set up for registration will be from 6-8pm on Wed. Sept. 19th Registration Dates: September 20th, 2007 5-8pm

September 22nd, 2007 9am- Noon

Registration Fees: Tabled until next meeting. Please take a look at last years fees and come prepared with ideas.

Advertisement: Bob Barnes will handle.

Schedule: Stacie is working on tentative schedule for the year. Tournament weekends are Jan 18 th, 19 th, & 20 th, Feb 15 th, 16 th, & 17 th.

House – IceHawk program: John Lloyd will work with coaches. Will have same practice and game schedule as last year. Coaches will be expected to work together and have some full ice practices.

Travel: Looking at the numbers from last year. We expect to have a Bantam A team, Squirt A & B team, and a Peewee A & B team. Mark Hicks to run try-outs. Mark would like to see 3 nights set aside for tryouts. Parents will not be allowed on the ice or near the tryout areas.

The Travel selection committee is: Jerry Gribben, Pam Metli, Stacie Lancaster, and Craig Osland.

Coaches: Mark Hicks has received some applications for coaching. He has a tentative list in mind for the travel teams.

Team Sponsors: Pam has a list of team sponsors. We are always looking for new sponsorships. It has been suggested that Ron Hanna may help with sponsorships.

Minutes: Minutes from the April and June meetings were reviewed. Geri motions to accept the minutes, Mike seconds. Motion approved. Julie to send out May minutes and approval tabled until next meeting.

High School:

-Sponsors: Jerry motions that each High School player be allowed two sponsors. Their names will be in programs and a plaque will be given. Craig seconds the motion. Motion approved.

-Suspensions: Player suspensions were discussed. John Wagner will follow up with Midwest High School Hockey League.

Golf Outing: Mike Butler reported on the golf outing held July 19 th. Suggestions were made for next year.

Jerseys: Pam gave an update on the purchase of jerseys. Work is being done on the logo and purchase of the shirts.

Meeting adjourned at 8:15pm . Next Meeting will be August 23, 2007 .
