Board Meeting December 20 th, 2006

Members Present: Dave Hepperly, Pam Metli, Geri Maulsby, Susie Smith, George Jessen, & Kristin McHenry. Guest: Mark Hicks

Below information was discussion only.

Financials: Year-end financials were reviewed. Discussed putting $30,000 into a treasured CD.

Geri met with Dick Price. Reviewed building and zamboni insurance.

Arena Wages: Wages are up again this year. Discussion was held; what is different now than in years past? Are the workers hours appropriate? Do we have too many workers at one time?

Outdoor Ice: Do we even need it? Should the board make the decision if it is to be put in or not? (Ex. This winter has not been cold enough.) Should we be paying workers to do this? Should it be done more on a volunteer basis?

Concessions: Concessions are down considerably from last year. Concession stand needs to be open and volunteers running it, not arena staff. We need our advertising popcorn bags back. Discussed pricing options with beverages.

High School Hockey: Newman night- Jan 5 th. Clear Lake night- Jan 12 th.

Mid-Season Sign up: $50 Learn to Skate fee. All other levels half price.

Ice-Hawks: Redraft needed at mid-season. Players should be playing all positions. Discussed the fact we have a good portion of older players at the ice-hawk level right now. Brian McHenry has asked that some of those more advanced players be able to play at the super hawk level as well.

PWB’s: Jeff Cornick has reported that things are better. If behavior should not improve the whole team will lose locker room privileges.

Discussed prize options. Gift card and gift certificates will probably utilized.

Cancer Society: Linda Anderegg has not been available lately. Will have to get more information from her on how the cancer event is unfolding.

Ron Olsen Benefit: Benefit will be held after the Newman night on Jan 5 th, 2007. All proceeds from a $5 public skate after the game will go to Ron.

Referees: Glen has written a letter to MCYH board. The letter was reviewed. The letter will be given to Neil Noterman and he can address Glen’s concerns.
