Mason City Youth Hockey Association
Board Meeting April 25 th, 2007
First Citizens National Bank 6:30pm

Members Present: Jerry Gribben, Pam Metli, Stacie Lancaster, Craig Osland, Julie Fistler, Mike Butler, Bob Barnes, Dave Hepperly, Kristin McHenry, Geri Maulsby, Susie Smith. Guest attending: John Lloyd.

Minutes: March minutes and annual meeting minutes reviewed. Jerry motions to approve the minutes. Bob seconds. Motion approved.

Election of Officers:

President: Mike nominates Bob Barnes, Julie nominates Pam Metli, and Kristin seconds the nominations. Vote: Pam–7/ Bob-2. Pam Metli elected as President.

Vice-President: Stacie nominates Craig Osland, Jerry nominates Bob Barnes, and Susie seconds that nominations. Julie nominates Jerry Gribben. Dave seconds. Vote: Bob-5 / Jerry- 2/ Craig-1. Bob Barnes elected Vice-President.

Treasurer: Bob nominates Mike Butler. Geri seconds the nomination. Mike Butler elected.

Secretary: Jerry nominates Kristin McHenry. Bob seconds. Kristin McHenry elected.

High School Rep: Pam motions to elect John Wagner as High School representative. Dave seconds the motion. All are in favor. John Wagner elected.

Figure Skating: John Lloyd states they need to utilize their ice time better. Pam will meet with them earlier in the year to adjust their schedule if needed.

Financials: Sponsorships need to be gone through and billed again.

Arena: John reports: Ice out last week. Concessions did well the last two games of the Outlaw playoffs. Tear down went well. New bearings are needed for the cooling tower. It will need to be done this summer. Expected cost $900-1,000 to replace. The sub-soil heating systems tank is leaking and rusting out. John will price out a new tank. Will probably have to go with a fiberglass tank.

High School: Dave reports nothing new. Need to be looking for coaches. Schedule to be looked at soon to block weekends then the schedule can go to the Outlaws.

Youth Hockey: Jeff Metli went to the Midwest Hockey meeting. Main things to come out of meeting: Risk manager is needed for organization. Coaches need to be wearing helmets on the ice. They can and will be warned, fined, and suspended if not in compliance with this.

Maha Meeting: Jeff Metli and Tom Lundeen attended. Travel leagues, squirt on up must have Stop patch on jersey! Maha is rezoning their districts.

Website: Cliff True probably moving soon. Will need to find someone to maintain the website.

Coaching Lists: Applications need to go out to all coaches. Mark needs them all by August.

Bandfestival: Jeff Cornick is organizing. All youth may walk in parade. This was sent out in the April newsletter.

Fundraising: Golf Outing chair- Bob Barnes. Event will take place July 19 th, 2007 .

Old Business: The following committees need to start working on their projects:

-Travel Jersey Committee
-Heating System Committee

Landscaping: Dave or Pam will check with the Miller’s about placing sod.

New Business: Selection of Committees: Discussion was held. Will finalize at next meeting.

Jerry motions for adjournment. Geri seconds the motion. Meeting adjourned at 8:46pm .
