Hockey Registration General Information Registration fees will be at the time of registration. The registration fee may be paid by check or cash (no credit cards). The North Iowa Ice Sports Association, youth hockey is part of that, is a member of the Midwest League and Tri-State Affiliate. As a member in good standing we must abide by certain rules and standards, and in return, we are able to register our program's skaters, coaches, teams and tournaments. In order for any team associated with the North Iowa Ice Sports Association (NIISA) to practice, play or travel they must be registered with USA Hockey through our association. When can Kids Begin Skating and Playing Hockey? Participation can actually begin as early as a boy or girl can walk. There is a Learn to Skate program for anyone who need help in the basics of skating and to learn the game of hockey. Specific dates and times will be set up for this program. Check with us at registration. Any child must be registered with the association before they can step foot on the ice.
